Well Tour ‘05 is over and the illusive Wookie put up a marvelous hunt this year. What a great time. A week in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness - Siskiyou National Forest mountain biking with great friends, good beer and amazing trails.

Some key highlights from this year are definitely our night ride of Chrome Ridge, Multiple runs of the Jedi, and all of us CRUSHING the Expert Loop this year.

I’ve put up a gallery of images that I took over the week. Unfortunately, We didn’t shoot any video like we did last year. But I can tell you that we were riding really well this year and all of us pushed ourselves to the limit.

Anyway, I hope to be able to come up with some more creative descriptions of the week in the next few days but I really wanted to get these images up for people to check out. Next Tuesday we leave for Kauai!!

I’m on vacation. T-Minus 2 days until tour. Nice dinner tonight with Eden, tomorrow is last minute shopping and getting it all together. Sunday is the day.

It looks like CBS News has picked up the story that ran in the CSM yesterday… Awesome.

PORTLAND, ORE. – On the surface, it looks like an ordinary weeknight gathering of aimless guys. A dozen men on a back porch chew thick slices of delivered pizza between rat-a-tat banter. One wears a bandanna. Another sports a John Deere T-shirt. Several have counterculture beards.

All of a sudden it’s Friday again. There was so much I was going to write about this week but damn.. I guess I didn’t get to it. So I’ll see if I can re-cap.

Saturday I went on a great ride with Gary. Sunday hrm.. no yoga but that was alright.. bagels with Ian and Danielle. Then into the week. Busy this week it seems. Work has been mellow and I finally got back to finishing Programming C# and some other various things.

Wednesday night was a blast. Hack Night is starting to become quite the event. A freelance writer came to the meeting and was interviewing all of us and hanging out. There was tons of activity around the Mississippi Network and lots of hardware hacking. Which is great to see happening… and then… since I had made my way home after work and rode my bike to the meeting. I got the bug to ride Mt. Tabor. There was still day light and it had to be done. I phoned Ivan, Ivan agreed, we rode. After tearing up Mt. Tabor I headed back to North Portland to the house. It indeed was a great evening. And I’m glad I got a chance to get on my bike in the middle of the week, about 20 miles for the evening.

And so T-Minus 9 until Tour. A week of Mountain Biking in Southern Oregon. I can not wait. For one, I’m much stronger this year than I have been in the past. For another reason, I’m very pleased with my riding so far this year. It’s going to be a great trip.

ALSO!!! Eden and I have finally booked our vacation. Kauai! And for criminy sakes I’m stoked. I really am starting to have a hard time figuring out how to make it through next week with any motivation. I’m sure I can do it.. With day dreams of Mt. Biking and staying here and here. I can make it.. I think..

ALSO ALSO.. Mom and Dad are coming to visit the first week of August! Which is going to be fantastic!

Not much up right now except hunger. I should probably eat breakfast more often. But hey, that’s life. Anyway, last night Eden and I had a great time at First Thursday with Bruce and Carla. We went to a few galleries but we got a late start on things so some of the places we wanted to check out were already closed. We had pretty good sandwiches for dinner at “Ford’s on 5th” which is next door to Backspace. After dinner we walked over to Voodoo Doughnuts. OMG the belly.. So, I guess it’s probably best that I didn’t eat breakfast.

This morning I’m at work. Status meeting at 8:30 and some chatting with Jason this morning about some networking stuff and roofnet. He’s been working on some good auto-configuration stuff for setting up wgt634u’s for joining and creating roofnet networks with Personal Telco specific network settings. I also picked up a couple of those devices this week so that we can do more testing soon.

It’s Friday.. dieing to get on my bike this weekend.. It’s going to be a busy one.
